Strategic Planning

Stop reacting. Start leading with intention.

Most business owners have a vision - it’s just trapped in their head. Strategic Planning is how you get it out, get your team aligned, and build the systems that turn ambition into measurable results. Annual workshop. Quarterly check-ins. Monthly Accountability. All year long.

A Plan Your Whole Team Can Execute

Sound Familiar?

Growth is exciting. Getting ahead of it is the hard part.

Strategic Planning is built for business owners at an inflection point - the moment when what got you here isn’t enough to get you where you want to go. You’re not struggling. You’re growing. And growth without a clear plan creates its own kind of chaos.

Hiring a leadership team

You're ready to stop doing everything yourself, but you need a framework your people can actually run in.

Raising capital

Investors want to see a real strategy, not a pitch deck. You need a plan that holds up under scrutiny.

Expanding into a new market

The opportunity is real but direction is unclear. You need clarity on priorities before committing resources.

Hitting a growth plateau

Revenue has stalled and you can't quite see why. The problem is usually focus — or the absence of it.

How It Works

Ongoing strategic support — not just a one-time session.

Strategic Planning is an ongoing engagement structured around three main touchpoints: an annual planning workshop to set direction, quarterly sessions to reset priorities, and monthly check-ins to keep everything on track. Co-Founders Alex Seydel and Kim Wasney facilitate the workshop and take the lead on the engagement, with specialists brought in to support quarterly initiatives if your team doesn’t have an internal resource available.

Annual Planning Workshop

A focused, in-person session to build your strategic foundation for the year ahead. Day one is owner-only — vision, values, long-term picture, and annual goals. Day two brings in your leadership team and advisory board for SWOT work, operational priorities, accountability assignments, and 90-day first steps. You leave with a written vision report and a live KPI scorecard.

Quarterly Goal-Setting Sessions

Virtual sessions at the start of each quarter to review progress, reset priorities, and identify the highest-leverage initiatives for the next 90 days. We look at what's on track, what's stalled, and what needs to change — so you're always working on the right things, not just the urgent ones.

Monthly Strategic Check-Ins

A regular accountability rhythm to keep momentum between quarterly sessions. We review your scorecard, address what's getting in the way, and make sure the plan is being executed — not just sitting in a document. If a quarterly initiative needs outside support, we bring the right specialist in.

Engagement Length Annual engagement 1 annual workshop + 4 quarterly sessions + 12 monthly check-ins
Participants Owner + leadership team Day one owner-only; day two opens to full team and advisory board
Format Annual workshop in person Quarterly and monthly sessions virtual

What You Walk Away With

Two deliverables. One for direction. One for execution.

Every Strategic Planning engagement produces two working documents, not meeting notes. A written vision report you can share with your whole team, and a live KPI scorecard your people can own and track all year long.

Written Vision Report

A structured document built from your workshop that captures everything your team needs to understand where you're going and why.

  • Core values with definitions
  • Mission and vision statements
  • 10-year and 3-year picture — revenue, team, operations, user experience
  • External differentiators (why clients choose you)
  • Internal differentiators (why people want to work for you)
  • Annual goals and top priorities
  • 90-day action plan with assigned leads

KPI Scorecard

A live tracking tool — built around your specific business and assigned to the right people on your team, not a generic template.

  • Annual goals broken into quarterly targets
  • Quarterly action items — specific initiatives with owners and deadlines
  • Weekly and monthly measurables tracked by department
  • Progress visibility for you and your leadership team
  • Reviewed and updated at every quarterly session

From the Field

What changes when there's a real plan.

From Overwhelmed to Focused

A retail business owner was trying to do everything — sales, operations, vendor management. The problem wasn't effort. It was that he wasn't focused on what only he could do.

We sat down one-on-one and built a simple roadmap: five growth initiatives, clear prioritization, deadlines tied to real impact. Within months, he had delegated low-value tasks, reclaimed 50% of his time, and saw a measurable uptick in sales in under 45 days.

Giving the Team Numbers to Own

An independent coffee roaster had strong sales but no visibility beyond top-line revenue. No one on the team could see how their daily work connected to business outcomes.

We built a team scorecard: the café manager tracked average spend per customer, the roastery lead measured output per shift, the sales lead tracked new wholesale accounts. The result was a culture of ownership — improved margins, better accountability, and a team invested in the numbers.

Strategic clarity isn't abstract. Here's what it looks like in practice.

In Their Words

What clients say about the work.

"I could brag about my experience working with Ripples Edge Advisors all day long. As a small business owner, it's almost impossible to find time to clarify goals and develop actionable plans on my own. Getting to work with Ripples Edge Advisors for a strategic planning session helped me feel more organized and confident about the direction of my business. Their expertise also led to several valuable insights that I wouldn't have discovered without their perspective."
— Owner, Event Planning Business, Strategic Planning client
"Having the accountability partners checking in each month to keep me accountable — doing the things that help move the business forward. Ripples Edge Advisors helped set up processes and systems in place helping new hires get trained, up to speed, and prioritize onboarding."
— Founding Partner, Law Firm, ongoing Strategic Planning engagement
"I hired Ripples Edge Advisors for the same reason you'd pay for a personal trainer instead of just going to the gym. When you're investing in an experts, it makes the time more serious, productive, and formally structured."

This Is For You If…

You're growing and need to get ahead of that growth — not manage it reactively after the fact
You have a vision for the business but it lives in your head, not on paper, and your team can't execute what they don't know
You're building a leadership team and need a strategic framework they can actually operate inside of
You're preparing to raise capital, expand into a new market, or make a significant strategic move and want a real plan behind it
You've hit a plateau and suspect the problem is focus — too many priorities competing, no real system for staying on track
You want a thought partner, not just a consultant — someone who knows your business month after month and keeps you accountable to the plan
